Downtown Southern Funk started out as a thought in the mind of Chef Adam and one of his old sous chefs back in 2012. In 2019 Chefs Callie and Adam made it a reality when they were approached by the owners of Seminar Brewing. In a two week sprint they developed the menus and trained in their staff. Over the couse of the last year we have added many new menu items, have donated to and served many community functions and many happy customers. Here's to many more years!
We take great pride in our recipes and cooking from scratch. We know that by sourcing local ingredients and making all of our own sauces, we can offer a unique product that can't be beat. Whether you're sitting inside or in our outdoor beer garden, you'll leave wanting to come back.
You won't often see her in front of the camera but in the kitchen she's at home, cooking and creating. From our signature Funky Sauce to the new Fried Green Tomato dishes, her recipes are all over the menu. Her passion is exemplified by the expression "Good enough is not good enough"
A long-time fixture of the Florence restaurant scene, Adam is usually the one in front of the camera but his heart is all about the food. Also working as the manager of the City Center Farmers Market gives us great access to tons of Farm-Fresh ingredients.
Coming from different backgrounds and different parts of the country gives Chefs Callie and Adam a different perspective on how a final dish should be. They share a passion for great food made from great local ingredients. Pop your head in the kitchen to say hi and watch them in action!
